James Aikman leverages 20+ years' experience in steering large-scale international civil engineering projects. His strategic vision ensures safe, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery. James has overseen major initiatives such as the £140m RAF Marham Project Anvil and the £60m RAF Akrotiri Runway reconstruction in Cyprus.

Estimating & Commercial Director
David McAlernon
David began his career with us as a placement student in 2005, going on to work on large-scale aviation and infrastructure schemes in the UK, Republic of Ireland, and internationally. With his contract and commercial management experience, David has ascended to the role of Estimating and Commercial Director, assuming a leadership position where he oversees the estimating and tender process.

David joined Lagan Specialist Constructing Group in 2018 and serves as Finance Director across the Group’s companies including Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure. Having worked at BDO, KPMG and PwC, David has a wealth of experience gained in multiple finance and leadership roles.

Dermott Agnew
As the Head of Legal and Group Company Secretary, Dermott plays a pivotal role in steering the legal aspects of the company. His expertise lies in the meticulous review, negotiation, evaluation, and finalisation of complex contracts, providing crucial insights during live tender bids, evaluating risk management profiles, and advising technical departments on pricing and operational foresight. Additionally, Dermott actively contributes to the commercial department by reviewing key commercial documentation, including Joint Venture Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, Confidentiality Agreements, Exclusivity Agreements, Bonds, Warranties, and Subcontracts.
