We take pride in being a family-owned company dedicated to delivering exceptional contracting and infrastructure solutions in an environment where people feel safe, secure, and valued. Our commitment extends beyond professional excellence; it's about creating an atmosphere where our people thrive. We firmly believe that when our employees feel valued, safe, and secure, they contribute their best to the success of the company.

Our commitment to employee well-being is evident through our comprehensive benefits package.

Flexible Working

Embracing the modern work landscape, we offer flexible working arrangements that empower our team to achieve a healthy work-life balance.

Employee Assistance

Our employee assistance programs offer support during both personal and professional transitions, and our health cash plan assists with the overall well-being of our team, providing financial assistance for various healthcare needs.

Personal Development

Recognizing that continuous learning is key to individual and organizational growth, we provide extensive training and development opportunities, ensuring our employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. We aim to provide each employee a minimum of 3 day’s learning and development each year in addition to on the job learning. This could be an internal or external course or our Line Manager Development Programme ‘Inspire’ or our Leadership Programme ‘Accelerate’. We also provide financial support and study leave for employees undertaking external programmes and pay one annual professional body membership subscription each year.

Physical & Mental Health

The ‘Wellness Hub’ at our Belfast Head Office is available for all our employees to use at any time throughout the day to help improve both our physical and mental health and wellbeing. Wellbeing Consultants facilitate a range of exercise classes and provide expert guidance on topics such as nutrition, mindfulness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

For those in non-head office roles, GymFlex offers discounted annual gym memberships via Salary Deductions.

We also have a team of mental health first aiders across the business, acting as a first point of contact for people with mental health issues, providing support and guidance. They act as an advocate for mental health in the workplace, helping to reduce stigmas and enact positive change. They help to identify causes of mental health problems and suggest ways that these can be resolved.

Volunteering Day

We understand that our employees support a range of community initiatives throughout the year that are important to them for many different reasons. To acknowledge this we encourage every employee to book one paid volunteering day each calendar year to support a good cause.

We are incredibly proud that Investors in People have awarded us Platinum accreditation – the highest accolade to be awarded.

Over 50,000 companies have been assessed by IIP in over 66 countries, with only 2% achieving platinum level. Setting an international benchmark for leadership, employees, and companies to work together to create an effective environment, IIP recognises organisations who seek to improve performance through the management and development of its people.

LIFE AT LAGAN AVIATION & INFRASTRUCTURE

Tye Biddle

Senior Airfield Construction Manager

"Working for Lagan has given me the opportunity to travel the world.”

I began my career with Lagan Holdings in 1996, starting out on the high-profile Hong Kong Chep LOL Kok Airfield project as a Paver/Screwman operator. Since Hong Kong I have worked for Lagan continuously for the past 28 years, leading me to work across 27 different countries and contribute to 46 different runway and road projects.

Throughout my career, I've ascended through various roles, culminating in my current position as a Senior Airfield Construction Manager. Working for Lagan has provided me with the opportunity to travel the world, meet people from diverse cultures, and tackle unique challenges. This exposure has not only expanded my construction expertise but also honed my skills in people management. A notable change in the construction landscape since my early days is the emphasis on Health and Safety, a crucial aspect that I've adeptly integrated into my role.

I am proud to have achieved all the goals I set for myself in my professional career during my time with Lagan.

Sarah Low

Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager

“My career in the business has progressed from Intern to Graduate to my current role of HSE & Sustainability Manager"

I graduated from the National University of Singapore and was a teacher for four years before I moved to Belfast to complete a Postgraduate Degree in Sustainable Development at Queen’s University Belfast.

I joined the HSEQ department as an Intern focussing on the implementation of a sustainable transport strategy across the business. I then worked on our Dublin Airport project for one and a half years as an environmental graduate.

In my current role I work closely with the tender and project teams across the business providing support to ensure compliance to all health, safety and environmental; legislation, best practices and company standards. My goal is to drive sustainability throughout the company by encouraging the protection of the environment while caring for colleagues and the communities we work with.

James Crawford

Group Business Development Manager

“This is a family company in every aspect of how we conduct our business. I joined twelve years ago as part of a site team in a quality role and I now report to the Board"

I’m responsible for the work winning across the group and ensuring the company continues to source and win new projects in all markets within which we operate. I’m usually working on projects 18-24 months before they’re due on site!

Everyone has a voice and are encouraged to actively participate in the business. There isn’t multiple layers of bureaucracy and there’s plenty of access to the owners of the business.

I received incredible support to complete a part-time Masters in Civil Engineering, now moving onto my PhD. No one will stop you from developing to the best of your ability.

We have a culture that fosters a sense of community and belonging. Our mission goes beyond delivering projects; it's about building lasting relationships with our employees. Join us on this journey, where your contributions are not just recognized, but celebrated, in an environment that truly values you as an integral part of our family.
